Star Wars LEGO Smart Play is here, but where are the Marvel ones?

Have you seen LEGO Smart Play? I mean, it’s very cool. It’s an interative toy ecosystem made by LEGO that uses motion sensing and proximity technology to bring your builds to life. AND you don’t need screens or smart devices to do that. As a parent we LOVE that! Star Wars is also very very awesome but I ask you…where are the Guardians of the Galaxy Smart Play LEGO’s?

I digress. So what is LEGO Smart Play? The Smart Play system works like this. There is a central Smart Brick that sends out dynamic lights and synthesized sounds by reading other specialised Smart Minifigures and Smart Tags, which are built into sets. On top of which, the range is divided into All-In-One Sets, and Compatible Sets. The All-In-One includes the core SMART Brick and a wireless charging pad, while the Compatible Sets contain the interactive tags and firgures but require a SMART Brick from another set to activated the tech features.

Again I ask, is there anyone out there that wouldn’t LOVE a mini groot that says “I am Groot”?

Features?

Well, there are four key interactive features in LEGO’s Smart Play. The first one is it’s invisible technology, designed to avoid screen addiction, because let’s face it, we’ve all got that right? It requires no smartphone apps or tablets while you are using them.

Motion and position reactions, is another excellent feature that allows the SMART Brick’s internal sensors to respond with sounds when you swoosh, twist, tilt or tap a model.

LEGO Smart Play features a Synthesized Audio Ecosystem that generates sound effects and character reactions on the brick via proximity tags rather than rigid pre-recorded files.

Finally, Smart Interaction Mechanics. What are these? Well an example is when you insert a interactive figure into a spaceship cockpit, the ship will produce engine roars. In addition, while matching objects together triggers environmental sounds like refueling or laser blasts.

They did not have cool toys like this when I was younger…so I’ll have to play with them now!
